How will it exactly look like?

Reede, 19. oktoobril kell 17:00  ootame sind Tallinna Euroopa Kooli (Tehnika 18).

Reede õhtul saavad kõik esitleda oma ideid, peale mida toimub tiimide moodustamine. Ära muretse, kui sul pole oma ideed, millega hackathonil osaleda soovid. Kindlasti leiad huvitava meeskonna, kellega liituda.

Vastavalt teemadele ning tiimide tugevustele ja vajadustele määratakse igale tiimile oma isiklik ekspert, kes kogu nädalavahetuse jooksul tiimi suunab, toetab ja nõustab.

Kogu laupäeva jätkavad tiimid prototüübi kallal töötamist, pühapäeva esimeses pooles harjutatakse lõpuesitluseks ning pühapäeva õhtul toimub lõpusündmus, kus parimaid tiime premeeritakse!

We are welcoming you at 6PM on October 19th at Tallinna Euroopa Kooli (Tehnika 18).

On Friday evening everyone can present their ideas and form teams. Don't worry if you're coming without an idea, you will for sure find a team to join!

Each team will get an expert who will support and guide the them throughout the weekend. On Saturday all the teams will continue working on their prototypes, the first half of Sunday is for pitch training and on Sunday evening the final event will take place where the most remarkable teams and participants will be rewarded!.

Arendusnädalavahetus kestab 48 tundi ning ideede kallal võib töötada kogu selle aja. Siiski soovitame leida igaühel ööpäevas vähemalt 8  tundi, et puhata ja energiat koguda. Tallinna Euroopa Kooli ruumid on avatud kell 7:00 - 00:00

Soe toit kolm korda päevas, kosutavad ja tervislikud suupisted ja maiustused- kõik on kohapeal olemas!

The hackathon lasts for 48 hours and you are welcomed to work on your ideas the whole time. We still encourage to find at least 8 hours per day to collect energy and rest. The rooms of Tallinna Euroopa Kool are opened 7:00 - 00:00.

We will provide you with warm meals three times per day, comforting and healthy snacks and sweets for brain power are available at all times!

How to participate?

Sündmus on tasuta, kuid osalemiseks tuleb täita see vorm 12. oktoobriks

Osa vormist on lühike (umbes pool A4 lehekülge) motivatsioonikiri, mis katab järgmised teemad:

• natukene endast (vanus, taust, huvid, oskused)

• miks tahad arendusnädalavahetusest osa võtta

• mida loodad arendusnädalavahetusest saada

• kui sul on idee, kirjelda paari lausega ka seda

The event is for free, but we ask you to form this form before  12th of October

Part of the form is a short (ca half of a A4) motivational letter which should cover the following

• a bit of yourself (age, background, interests, skills)

• why do you want to participate at the hackathon

• what do you hope to walk away with from the hackathon

• if you have an idea please explain it with few sentencee

Rõõmus tuju, uudishimu, palju energiat ja valmisolek teha midagi enneolematult ägedat! Võimalusel võta kaasa ka oma süle- või tahvelarvuti ning materjalid, mida tead, et vajad oma idee elluviimiseks.

Good mood, open mind, a lot of energy and willingness to create something unheard-of! Bring your laptop or tablet and all the materials you need to create your product.  

Kuidas toimib ideede esitlemine?

How does pitching ideas look like?

Reede õhtul on kõigil soovijatel võimalik oma ideid esitleda eesmärgiga saada kokku meeskond, kellega sellest toimiv prototüüp arendada. Ideede esitlemine toimub 90-sekundilise lifitkõne formaadis, mille jooksul on oluline katta järgmised punktid :

• Kes sina oled? Mis on sinu projekti nimi?

• Millist probleemi lahendad? Kelle probleem see on?

• Milline on sinu poolt pakutav lahendus?

• Milline on idee tehniline lahendus? Mis on valmis pühapäeva õhtuks?

• Keda vajad oma tiimi?

Oma esitluse toetamiseks võid valmistada 1PDF slaidi, mis tuleb saata 19.oktoobril hiljemalt kell 14:00 aadressile natalie@garage48.org

pealkirjaks märgi enda ja oma projekti nimi.

Soovitame idee esitlemist enne sõprade ja vanemate ees harjutada

Everyone has the chance to pitch their idea on Friday evening in order to combine a team who will then start working on the prototype.Ideas are presented based on "elevator-pitch" method within 90 seconds.

• Describe briefly your background (10 sec)

• What is the name of the idea (5 sec)

• What's the idea all about? What is the problem your idea solves? Target user count and description (30 sec)

• Technical solution and if there is a revenue model (in case of non-profit idea, how the maintenance and further development costs will be covered?) (30 sec)

• Minimum viable product and plan for 48 hours. Who do you need for the team? (20 sec)

Kuidas moodustuvad tiimid?

How will the teams will be formed?

Kui ideede esitlemine on läbi, paneme me ideed paberil seinale. Iga osaleja saab valida oma lemmik idee, selle paberi juurde koonduda ning niimoodi moodustuvad tiimid. Tavapäraselt saavad tiimi kokku ligi pooled esitatud ideed. Kui sinu idee või soovitud töögrupp tiimi kokku ei saa - näiteks kui on puudu mõni oluline spetsialist), siis palume sul liituda mõne teise idee ja tiimiga.

Keskmiselt on tiimis 5-7 inimest ning tiim peaks olema “tasakaalus” - kõik vajalikud rollid peaksid olema kaetud, et toode saaks 48 tunni jooksul valmis ning esitlemisväärse disaini.

After pitching is over, we will put all the ideas on the wall. Every participant will choose their favourite idea and this is how teams will be formed. Usually half of the ideas will get enough interested people to get the "green light" for the implementation.

Average team has about 5 to 7 people and the team should be "balanced" - covering all required roles necessary like engineers, designer, a project manager (team lead/visionary) and marketer in order to get the product/service ready in 48 hours!

If some ideas get too few people or not balanced teams (probably unable to build the service), the idea will be dumped. Those people should choose another idea/team.

Ja mis siis saab?

And then what?

Pärast tiimide moodustamist määravad korraldajad igale töögrupile kogu nädalavahetuseks oma kindla ruumi ning lauajuhi, kes tiimi aitavad. Ruumi jõudes selgitab lauajuht, kuidas kõige paremini tiimis tööd teha, eesmärgid seada ning tegevus-ja ajakava koostada.

Seejärel algabki töö selle nimel, et vähem kui 48 tunni pärast ülejäänud hackathonil osalejatele, publikule ja žüriile nädalavahetuse jooksul valminud prototüüpe esitleda.

After team formation each of them will get their personal team lead who will help the throughout the weekend. After arriving to the workstation the team lead will share tips how to best set and reach goals and create time schedules. After this the work will begin and after less than 48 hours each team will present the prototypes they built to the audiences, other participants and jury.
