Join Garage48 empowering women programs as a Project Manager

Do you believe in equal opportunities for everyone and get passionate about solving different socioeconomic problems for people around the globe?  Do you believe in the power of the startup mindset? Then take a closer look - we might have something you have been looking for!

Garage48 is a community of people inspired to work full-heartedly without excuses. We love what we do, honestly. Our mission is to bring out the best in people - boost their creativity, bring out their entrepreneurial minds and guide them towards the execution of their bold ideas. We’re in search of a like-minded individual with a strong desire to create impact and a getting-things-done attitude, and the experience to back it up.

Join us as a Project Manager for the Empowering Women entrepreneurship program in Ukraine and Estonia, that supports internally displaced women, and women living on the contact line in Ukraine, and war refugees in Estonia in rebuilding their future through entrepreneurship.

We are looking for a person with a natural drive to initiate and lead a project from the very beginning to the end - an experienced project manager who gets inspired by the opportunity to lead bigger cooperation projects, develop concepts from scratch, and fundraise through both public and private channels. A strong ability to work individually will help you thrive in our team. As we have a very small team, this includes the actual execution, not just coordinating. Please be ready for a very hands-on approach - although having a vision is nice, we are not looking for just strategists.

You will be working project-based, on

  • Organizing the Garage48 Empowering Women entrepreneurship program in Estonia, Ukraine and potentially beyond.

  • Managing program partnerships, program organizing team members and volunteers work, service providers work, coordinating program mentors’ work.

  • Developing and coordinating the program communication and outreach strategy for participant engagement

  • Preparing onsite, online and hybrid open innovation programs from content design to all aspects of technical requirements, participant communication and other parts of an accommodating, supportive and agile program.

  • Identifying and researching funding opportunities coming from co-operations with private companies or public organisations, for the next editions of the program.

  • Sales and partnerships. Creating sponsorship proposals, compiling or developing materials to submit to granting or other funding organisations. Seeking for new potential partnerships, contacting the leads and seeing the leads transform to new partners. Managing and overseeing correct financial and content reporting and documentation of the program.

Garage48 is not a 9-to-5-job.

Most of Garage48 programs, as well as the Empowering Women entrepreneurship program, happen on the weekends and evenings.

We’re currently looking for a minimum of half-time contribution that is dynamic in its nature. Program preparation months are very flexible, while the program months with the program span of 10 to 14 days need daily management and concentration of the working time.

You can work remotely or in our office at the Palo Alto Club in Tallinn.

Looking further, we’re very much welcoming a person wishing to contribute to taking the Empowering Women programs further and making the next editions happen.

It would be great if you would have

  • Strong project management skills, a natural drive for initiating processes. Ability to act on, implement and make sound decisions. The capacity of running several projects at the same time.

  • Leadership skills. You have to be comfortable in leading a small team, delegating tasks whenever possible, managing partnerships and leading different meetings, leading the concept creation of a project from scratch.

  • Experience in developing different open innovation programs, hackathons, trainings. Ability to see beyond mere agendas and dive deeper into the content.

  • Great people skills and the excitement for socialising and building a network.

  • Knowledge of how large-scale international impact projects work.

  • Some experience in grant writing and the basics of sales work.

  • Readiness to rather quickly adapt to, lead and implement changes in unpredictable circumstances.

  • Fluency in English, Ukrainian and Russian - both in speech and writing. Any other languages are always a bonus!

  • A good hand for writing communication materials for marketing as well as clear and catchy participant communication

  • A good eye for marketing and previous experience in social media marketing.

  • Open mind and heart for different cultures and curiosity for new experiences.

  • The well-developed skill of taking care and guiding others. You identify as a natural-born pack-leader.

  • Among the above-mentioned things, you must love travelling and dogs

  • Most important of all - you must believe that all the hard work you are doing does make an impact in beneficiaries’ lives. Your inner motivation to wish to help others find the means to help themselves can be the key to your success.

Garage48 family members are team players and people's persons. We appreciate somebody who is willing to help others out and is excited to learn together in the process. Our greatest projects come together if the bright minds and diverse skills collaborate.

If this sounds like the right thing for you, please send your resume, salary expectation and a cover letter telling us why this opportunity excites you, to jobs@garage48.org

Deadline to apply: 5th of November, 2023
